Common causes of Lower Back Pain

Don’t let lower back pain get you down. It is one of the most common injuries across the UK, and has many different causes. Perhaps the most common cause of lower back pain is lifting heavy objects improperly. This is a common mistake as people lift objects using their back and shoulder muscles, rather than the strength in their legs.

Pain can also originate from arthritis or herniated discs. Whatever the trigger of your pain, at The Didcot Chiropractic Clinic, we understand that it’s important to get you up and running again as soon as possible, so that you can go back to enjoying your everyday life.

Our chiropractors will aim to reduce pain at its source, rather than simply masking the symptoms of lower back pain. If you’d like more information, call us on 01235 510097 and speak to one of our experienced team members.

Types of Pain

The first type of lower back pain treated at The Didcot Clinic is ‘acute’ pain.

Lasting for up to six months, acute pain is caused by damage to the soft tissues in the lower back. However, if left and not treated, acute pain can cause much more serious health problems; it will more than likely develop into ‘chronic’ pain.

Chronic pain, which can be caused by conditions such as spinal misalignment, is more often than not a result of untreated acute pain. So, if you feel any sort of back pain, or have any injury which has affected your lower back, it is imperative to seek medical advice straight away – rather than letting the issue worsen.

Our chiropractors at The Didcot Clinic are here to help in any way we can. We offer excellent standards of care for our patients, so you can rest assured that you’re in capable and caring hands during the course of your treatment.

We feel it is important for our patients to have a thorough understanding of their condition in order for them to make their own informed health care choices. We listen carefully to our patients, taking time to explain in everyday language why certain symptoms are occurring. Orthopaedic, neurological and special chiropractic tests are undertaken and medical history is examined.

We are not a ‘ one size fits all ‘ clinic – treatment care plans and effective adjustment techniques are individually tailored to suit you. We can offer lifestyle advice on exercises and nutrition which will aid further your recovery process
